2013 Loosen Brothers “Dr. L” Riesling, Mosel, Germany (Mike)

This Riesling embodies the elegant and racy style typical of classical Mosel Riesling. It is refreshing and fruity with a fine mineral edge, and at this price, a wonderful introduction to German Riesling. Bright fruit and cleansing acidity make this ideal companion for brunch foods- think eggs and hollandaise, waffles or salty ham.  And with dinner-try with Asian noodle dishes or anything with a little spice.

2009 Domaine La Casenove La Garrigue, Languedoc-Roussillon, France (Matt)

A great blend of 40% Carignan, 40% Syrah and 20% Grenache. Rated 92pts by Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, “notes of cases, blackberries, lavender, licorice, pepper and garrigue.  Full-bodied, rich and heady, this beauty is capable of drinking well for 5-6 more years.” Pair with roasted meats or well aged cheeses.

2010 Roth Merlot, Alexander Valley, California  (Pat)

From the Southern portion of Alexander Valley, Roth’s vineyard is composed of gently rolling hills and volcanic based soils, creating Merlot wines with great intensity, depth and concentration.  On the nose this wine displays violet, roses, truffles and earth-on the palate, currant, black cherry, plum, bell pepper, oak and toast. Try with beef bourguignon or roasted chicken.

2009 Colutta Cabernet Sauvignon DOC Friuli Colli Orientali, Italy (Jen & Jerry)

As the weather starts to turn, we really enjoy more robust wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon with heartier fall dishes.  This Cab has a delicately grassy nose with a hint of forest, and on the palate herbs, berries, and vanilla; excellent with red meats, poultry and aged cheeses.
