Bodegas Volver 2012 Tarima Monastrell Organic, Alicante, Spain (Tim)
A new organic selection for Mills, rated 90pts Robert Parker, “abundant blueberry and black raspberry fruit intermixed with a hint of crushed chalk. Medium to full bodied with amazing concentration, this big, savory, mouthfilling wine should drink nicely for 5-6 years.” Pair this bargain wine with grilled meats or stew. This would be a great wine to serve for a crowd with the Cuban dish “Ropa Vieja”, a stewed, shredded beef dish served over rice or on tortillas.

SUNDAY Tasting
NV Bailly Lapierre Brut Cremant de Borgogne (Jen & Jerry)
Cremants are simply French sparkling wines made in areas outside of the Champagne region- they are made using the same method as Champagne, and sometimes with different varietals. This is a delicious, complex sparkling wine from the village of Bailly in Burgundy, France made from the Pinot Noir grape. At just a fraction of the price of Champagne, this presents an excellent value! Delicate, long-lasting bubbles and a fine streak of minerality characterize this wine. The pleasant acidity makes it pair perfectly with cheese, fried foods or dishes with creamy sauces.
