Grof Degenfeld 2013 Furmint, TOkaj, Hungary (Pat D.)
Try this new Hungarian selection, an off-dry white wine made from the Furmint grape, which has been growing in the Tokaj region since at least the late 16th century. Furmint can make bone dry wines or extremely sweet dessert wines depending on when it is harvested. This delicate, off-dry version has high acidity which nicely balances the sweetness and makes it an excellent pairing for seafood, sushi and spicy dishes.

Craggy Range 2015 Sauvignon Blanc Te Muna Road Vineyard, Martinborough, New Zealand (Carolyn)
This is a delicious medium-bodied Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of citrus blossom, lime, and jasmine. Fresh lime and grapefruit flavors as well as crushed stones accent the long, crisp finish. The Wairarapa region of New Zealand produces only 1.3% of the country’s wines, but those that are produced here are highly sought after, iconic wines by small, family-owned wineries. Schreckbichl is located on cool, vine-covered rolling hills in an area of Italy that was once part of Austria. This is an elegant, medium-bodied Pinot Noir from the Northernmost region of Alto Adige. Concha y Toro Casillero del Diablo 2013 Carmenere, Chile (Jessica)
An easy-drinking wine from Chile, with ripe black and blue fruit flavors and peppery nuances. Carmenere is a grape that originated in Bordeaux, and is considered a “cousin” of Merlot. In fact, the word Carmenere is derived from the French word for crimson, “carmin”, and is a nod to the deep crimson color of the wine. Carmenere is one of the six original Bordeaux varietals, along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Try with braised beef dishes or pork tacos!

RdV 2013 “Friends and Family” Red Blend, Delaplane, Virginia (Carolyn)
We felt incredibly fortunate to be able to snag a case of wine from this exceptional Virginia winery. Rutger de Vink (“Vink” translates to “finch”, thus the watercolor birds on the label, 1 looking back to the past and 2 looking forward to the future) established the winery in 2004 and has managed to steadily increase his cult following ever since. This delicious and affordable red blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot and 6% Petite Verdot is an example of a Bordeaux type blend using meticulous winemaking practices in the Virginia terroir.
