Dopff & Irion Cremant d’Alsace Brut Rosè, France (Pat)
This dry sparkling wine from Alsace, France features a pink, almost coppery hue, a nose of strawberry and citrus and a full-flavored palate of red berry fruit. And with Rosè Champagne prices spiraling quite high, the relatively affordable price of this Crèmant is refreshing as well. Made from 100% Pinot Noir, this would be an excellent aperitif or pairing with grilled chicken or vegetables, chilled pea soup, or ham. Rated 90pts Wine Enthusiast.

This dry white wine is made from 100% Garganega grapes planted in volcanic soil. A creamy textured, beautiful Italian white from benchmark Soave producer Prà, this features dried wildflower, pastry and ripe orchard fruit notes. Castelmaure “La Buvette” Corbieres, Southern France (Jen & Jerry)
A blend of 60% Grenache and 40% Carignan (non-vintage) planted in schist and limestone soils by the cooperative Castelmaure, this light-bodied wine is the perfect red to serve chilled with a summer picnic. Ebullient with crushed strawberry, cassis, blackberry notes, the smooth tannins are followed by a light touch of spice. This easy-to-drink wine would be a wonderful pairing with charcuterie or a cheese platter.

Bodega Colomè Autentico 2017 Malbec, Salta, Argentina (Andres)
Colome was established in 1831 by the Spanish Governor of Salta, making it the oldest winery in Argentina- they also own the world’s highest altitude vineyard. More recently, the winery was acquired by California based Hess Family Wine Estates. The vines for this 100% Malbec are over 100 years old, and the wine sees no oak. The nose features blue raspberry, cherry and tobacco, while the palate features black cherries, mocha and restrained tannins with a soft mouthfeel. This is a more balanced yet very refined Malbec, and would be perfect to pair with grilled steaks!

Well before Champagne was being made in the Champagne region of France, the Benedictine monks of the Abbey of Saint-Hilaire in Limoux were making the World’s first sparkling wines. The grape is a local varietal known as Mauzac. Dry and toasty with a delightful creamy texture, this sparkling wine features pretty apple and citrus notes and would serve as an ideal aperitif or party wine!

Valley of the Moon 2016 Pinot Blanc/Viognier, Sonoma County, California (Jen & Jerry)
Generous aromatics of peach, honey and ginger delight in this juicy wine with ripe peach notes and a bright pineapple finish. No malolactic fermentation and no oak makes for a fresh expression of these two white varietals grown at Valley of the Moon winery in Sonoma Valley. With a long history, Valley of the Moon was the first winery established on the property in 1863. It was renamed Madrone Estates in later years and ultimately was owned by the famed newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst before passing into the hands of current ownership, the Stewart family. Try this enticing Oregon Pinot Noir, aged 1 year in primarily neutral French oak. Puro 2018 Malbec, Southwest France (Andres)
Malbec originated in Southern France, initially known as “Cot”. It is a thick-skinned grape and requires more heat and sunlight than Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot to ripen. We loved this new version, which not only features deep, luscious plum and blackberry notes but also earth and saddle leather components and medium tannins. From the rolling green hills of the Le Marche region (just east of Tuscany along the Adriatic coast), this dry white wine made from the Verdicchio grape features citrus and green sage notes, bright acid and a touch of savoriness, making it a great pairing for a warm plate of creamy pasta or burrata. This is another wine that famed importer Kermit Lynch has a hand in helping formulate alongside a European winemaker; in this case with Stefano Antonucci of Azienda Santa Barbara.

You’ll love this dry, plush, medium-bodied red with blackberry and plum aromas and coffee, cedar and smoke notes. Black cherry flavors dominate the slightly smoke tinged finish. Baco Noir is a French-American hybrid grape produced primarily in New York and Canada. It’s a cross of Folle Blanche with an unknown New World “Vitis Riparia” family and was developed as a phylloxera-resistant vine that retained French character. Try with roasted chicken or pork! Henry of Pelham is owned and operated by three brothers Matthew, Paul and Daniel Speck; all of whom were educated at St. John’s College of Annapolis.

This Cab showcases plum and allspice aromas and flavors of dark cherry and cedar, a full-bodied, smooth finish with velvety fine tannins. Try with beef or lamb dishes.
