NV Villa Jolanda Prosecco, Italy (Ingrid)

A crisp and light bubbly Prosecco with a lively apple blossom nose and fresh fruit forward flavor- not overly dry, presented in a beautiful spiral shaped glass bottle making it ideal for a gift (also available in miniature and magnum formats).  I love this with cheese, salads or sushi!

2012 Canoe Ridge “Expedition” Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington State (Jen & Jerry)

This Cabernet Sauvignon was actually recommended to us by a Mills Club Member, although we’ve long been a fan of the winery and have enjoyed the Expedition Pinot Gris many times.  Canoe Ridge’s estate vineyard is located along a wide swath of the Columbia River in eastern Washington-the river moderates the temperature fluctuations of the vineyard.  This blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Syrah, 6% Merlot and 5% Malbec delivers aromas of forest floor and wild strawberries and layered juicy flavors of smoky plum and savory black cherry with a deep, velvety finish. Pair with roasted or grilled meats!

Reg. Price:  $21.99

Mills Club Price:  $19.79

Case Price:  $17.59

Roscato Rosso Dolce Sweet Red, Lombardy, Italy (Ryan)

We always like to offer a selection for our customers who enjoy semi-sweet or sweet wines, and this choice will not disappoint. This delicately sweet, gently fizzy red wine from northern Italy makes a wonderful aperitif or chocolate dessert pairing.  Notes of cherry, blackberry and red raspberry dominate. Although this wine is made in the Moscato d’Asti style, it is actually made from Teroldego, Lagrein, and Croatina grapes from the Trentino-Alto Adige region as opposed to the Muscat Blanc grape.

Reg. Price:  $14.99

Mills Club Price:  $13.49

Case Price:  $11.99

2013 Novellum Chardonnay, Languedoc-Roussillon, France (Pat)

A beautiful Chardonnay from Southern France considered by many to be one of the best Chardonnay values on the US Market.  Because it is unoaked, it pairs deliciously with a wide variety of foods.  This wine earned 92pts from Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate, “Novellum is a crazy value that needs to be tasted to be believed. This Cotes Catalanes is aged three months in a combination of Burgundy barrels and stainless steel. Exotic and perfumed, with ample white peach, crème, brioche, and subtle nuttiness, it flows onto the palate with a medium to full-bodied, layered and beautifully detailed texture that shows bright acidity and fantastic purity of fruit. An incredible effort that has both richness and freshness, it should continue to thrill for another handful of years.”

A great example of affordable Burgundy Chardonnay! Rated 90pts by The Wine Advocate, “The 2012 Macon Lugny  Les Charmes comes from 40 year old vines on chalky soil.  It has an attractive bouquet of apple-blossom and lime flower that is very well defined and expressive with hints of Alpine stream and a touch of almond in the background.  The palate is well-balanced with tangerine and orange zest on the entry, leading to some attractive honey notes toward the rounded, generous finish…” Try with roast chicken or lobster.

Drink now-2018.”  Try with lamb chops with garlic and rosemary.
