WINES TASTED SUNDAY 1-4pm

Meinklang 2016 Frizzante Rose, Austria (Jen & Jerry)

The Michlits family makes this “Pet-Nat” or Petillant-Naturel on their biodynamic estate that sits on the border of Austria and Hungary. It gets its pink color by brief contact with the Pinot Noir skins, and the soft carbonation is made by bottling before fermentation is complete. This dry but vivacious wine makes a lovely spring aperitif, as it did when originally made for the Michlits wedding day!

Regular Price: $15.99

Mills Club Price: $14.39
Case Price: $12.79

Gen del Alma “Ji Ji Ji” 2016 Chenin Blanc, Chile (Jess)

Enjoy this amazing, unique dry Chenin Blanc, a super value considering being harvested by hand from a single vineyard and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Marked by very high acidity, it shows austere and minerally yet clean flavors of orange blossom, lemon, quince and apricot. Rated 92pts Robert Parker.

Regular Price: $18.99

Mills Club Price: $17.09
Case Price: $15.19

Carpineto Dogajolo 2017 Rosato IGT, Tuscany, Italy (Geoff)

Carpineto is a highly acclaimed Tuscan producer. The Dogajolo line they produce is meant to be more affordable and accessible. The word “doga” means “stave”, the strips of wood that are used to make wine casks. Floral aromatics precede flavors of apple, currants and cherries in this pretty dry rose made entirely from Sangiovese. Invigorating acidity is palate cleansing and refreshing. Try with grilled fish or shrimp, or an antipasto platter.

Regular Price: $13.99

Mills Club Price: $11.69
Case Price: $10.39

Domaine Pascal Aufranc 2014 Chenas, Beaujolais, France (Jen & Jerry)

Chenas, one of the ten cru of Beaujolais, can be difficult to find in the marketplace. This juicy example, made from 70 year old Gamay vines, exhibits spicy and floral characteristics. With soft tannins, this would be excellent with pate or charcuterie, cheeses, or even grilled seafood.

Regular Price: $21.99

Mills Club Price: $19.79
Case Price: $17.59

Wrath Ex Anima 2015 Pinot Noir, California (Andres)

Wine director and co-owner Michaael Thomas purchased San Saba Vineyards in 2007 with the goal of producing wines expressive of the terror and varietal, and started an aggressive replanting program. With a laser focus on Pinot, Syrah and Chardonnay, the fruits of their labor are just coming to light. This lightly oaked Pinot is super fresh, showing notes of pomegranate, black cherry, sagebrush and peppery spice. Try with rich seafood like salmon or beef tenderloin.

Regular Price: $29.99

Mills Club Price: $26.99

Case Price: $23.99

Clos de los Siete 2014 Red Blend, Mendoza, Argentina (Jess)

Made mostly from Malbec but also smaller amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc, this opulent, full-bodied wine is aged 12 months in French oak and displays red fruit, vanilla, and toast followed by a long, spicy finish. Excellent choice with grilled beef.
