The Naverran family has been farming this property since 1901, located a few miles south of Barcelona. Tegernseerhof 2018 Federspiel Riesling, Austria (Tim)
Martin Mittelbach is the winemaker at this ancient estate overlooking the Danube River in the Wachau region of Austria. Benedictine monks first built the original facilities in 1176, and it’s where the Tegernsee Abbey produced their wine thousands of years ago. The vines are planted to stone terraces, which lend a nice minerality to the wine balanced by ripe apple notes and a dry finish. Enjoy this vivacious Riesling with sushi or spicy Thai or Mexican fare.

St. Damien “La Bouveau” 2016 Cotes du Rhone, France (Aron)

This bottling is one of their Cotes-du-Rhone, made from 80% Syrah, 15% Cinsault and 5% Viognier, aged in concrete tanks. The wine is medium-bodied, with lots of fruit notes featuring blackberries and violets, finishing with spicy peppery herbs. Drink this wine with a classic oven-roasted chicken. ORGANIC

Fouchet 2018 Muscadet Sevre & Maine l’Augellerie, Loire Valley, France (Jen & Jerry)
Thinking of seafood tonight? Consider a bottle of Muscadet, one of the best values from the Loire Valley. Muscadet is made from the Melon de Bourgogne grape and has long been produced as flavorless bulk white wine. However this nearly bone-dry bottling is bright with citrusy acidity and grounded with a stony minerality, and will work wonderfully with mussels, oysters, scallops or shrimp!

Alain Jaume 2016 La Butte d’Or St Joseph, France (Tim)
This red is made from 100% Syrah planted to granite and marl soils on hillsides facing southeast in the St. Joseph appellation of Northern Rhone. St-Joseph wines were favored by Louis XII (1498-1515), who owned a vineyard there called Clos de Touron. St. Joseph and Northern Rhone in general has a continental climate with cold wet winters marked by mistral winds, as opposed to the Mediterranean climate in the better-known Southern Rhone region. The nose on this red shows pepper and jammy red fruits, while the palate is full-bodied and intense with medium tannins and a long finish. Try with hearty comfort foods such as beef stew or leg of lamb.
