Domaine Lèon Boesch 2017 “Luss” Riesling, Alsace (Tim)

Gerard and Matthew are the father and son team at the helm today in Westhalten, a commune located in the Ballons des Vosges nature reserve in Alsace.  Grown entirely without chemicals, their wines have been certified biodynamic since 2000.  The door of woven straw pictured on the label is a nod to the Noble Valley heritage, important to the duo as the 10thand 11thgeneration to uphold the winemaking tradition in their family. Showing pepper, plum and currant, this dry Riesling shows nice density, deftly combining power and richness. Try with hot and sour soup, ramen, or spicy pork tacos.

Exhibiting fresh red cherry, licorice and touches of black pepper and earth, this medium-bodied red is a great pairing with slowly roasted or braised meats or a cheese and charcuterie platter.  ORGANIC
