WINES TASTED SUNDAY 1-4pm

Zorzettig 2018 Sauvignon, Friuli, Italy (Andrew)

A taste of this wine left us unable to resist its charms; addition to our already overflowing Italian white wine section was inevitable. Made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc harvested from the Friuli Colli Orientali appellation, this boasts robust flavors of lemon peel, sage and elderberry. Bright acidity makes this a lively match for asparagus, risotto, and creamy pastas. Downright delicious!

Chateau Spencer la Pugade “La P’tite Envie” 2018 Corbieres Blanc, France (Pat)

From the Languedoc-Roussillon subregion of Corbieres comes this refreshing white wine made from 70% Vermentino, 20% Roussanne and 10% Marsanne.  Floral aromatics precede fresh, mouth watering acidity; try with mixed greens topped with poached chicken, apples and walnuts dressed with a tangy vinaigrette.

Chateau Minuty M 2019 Rosè, Provence (Aron)

Minuty has established itself as the most popular Rosè in Provence, the Saint-Tropez peninsula seemingly awash in its pink freshness! Made from Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, this wine yields pretty notes of peach, red currant and citrus with a round, easy-to-drink mouthfeel. Food versatile, you can serve this with pistou soup and crusty bread, pizza, or steamed shrimp.

Chateau Burgozone Via Istrum Marsalan, Bulgaria (Jen & Jerry)

Chateau Burgozone is located in the Danubian Plain of Bulgaria, with ruins of the Roman Fortress of Burgozone in the vineyard! Via Istrum is the ancient Roman road which the fortress was built upon. This red is made from the Marsalan grape, a varietal that was made in France in 1961 by crossing Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache. Aged in French oak for 12 months, it features cherry and black fruit notes and soft tannins. Try with barbecued or roasted meats.

This big glass of wine is so pleasurable to drink, it’s no wonder La Rioja Alta has been producing great wine since 1890 and gained their reputation of unparalleled quality.
