WINES TASTED SUNDAY 1-4pm

Chandon Limited Edition Rose Sparkling, California (Andrew)

Intense ripe strawberry, juicy watermelon, and fresh red cherry fruit aromas and flavors delight in this dry California Sparkling wine made in the Champagne method. The cheerful summer bottle wrap makes it an excellent gift!

Colosi 2017 Grillo, Sicily, Italy (Geoff)

A simple crisp Sicilian white wine such as this Grillo can be the ideal pairing for fish, seafood, and more delicate cheeses. Third generation winemaker Pietro Colosi works with his father (also named Pietro) out of their cellar in the village of Messina. Aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle are followed by flavors of green apple, peach, apricot and the influence of the saline sea; mineral and crushed oyster shells. Bright, palate-cleansing acidity matches citrus-based sauces or cuts through cream-based dishes as well.

Regular Price: $12.99

Mills Club Price: $11.69
Case Price: $10.39

Noble Vines “242” 2017 Sauvignon Blanc, Monterey, California (Aron)

Named “242” for the vineyard Block 242 in the San Bernabe AVA of Monterey, this is a zippy, bright Sauvignon Blanc displaying ripe apple, nectarine and wet stone notes. This would make for a very refreshing aperitif, or would be a sure pairing alongside salads with vinaigrette dressings or shrimp with cocktail sauce, and is the right price to serve at a barbecue or party without busting your budget!

Regular Price: $10.00

Mills Club Price: $9.00
Case Price: $8.00

Walter Hansel 2015 Meadows Vineyard, Russian River Valley, California (Jess)

Walter Hansel makes some of our favorite Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, but their Chardonnay is definitely worth a look as well. This Chardonnay was bottled unfined and unfiltered from hand harvested, dry farmed grapes grown in the Meadows Vineyard, in the northernmost portion of the Hansel estate alongside Santa Rosa Creek. Aged for 10 months in 40% new French oak. This wine achieved a barrel sample score range from Robert Parker of (91-94pts), “this Chardonnay offers up concentrated notes of honeysuckle, baked apple pie, cinnamon and plenty of spice in a medium-to-full, refreshing zesty style.” Drink 2016-2021. This is an excellent value for a beautifully made Chardonnay.

Regular Price: $34.99

Dominio Basconcillos 2016 Vina Magna Ribera del Duero, Spain (Tim)

Consider opting for this 100% Tempranillo from the northwest corner of Ribera del Duero, where the windy climate and hilly landscape provides cool respite from the hot valley below. Farmed entirely organically and biodynamically, this wine spends 6 months in barrique (60% French and 40% American) and exudes lush blackberry fruit and sage with easy tannins and present but moderate oak. Excellent pairing choice with grilled or braised meats.

Regular Price: $19.99

Mills Club Price: $17.99

Case Price: $15.99

Cousino Macul 2012 Finis Terrae, Maipo Valley, Chile (Pat)

This left bank Bordeaux-styled red blend is perfect to drink now, a full-bodied blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot displaying black currant, black cherry and clove notes. Spending 14 months in French oak followed by an additional 1-2 years of bottle age before release makes for a beautifully smooth texture with an underlying power, grip and concentration. Rated 92pts James Suckling. Try with grilled steaks, lamb or pasta with spicy sausage.

Regular Price $26.99

Mills Club Price: $24.29
Case Price: $21.59
