Cahors was a center of commerce during the Middle Ages in southwest France, and is now a charming village, known as the birthplace of Cot, more commonly known as Malbec. The Bernede family that produces this wine is a part of the winemaking tradition of this village. This wine is 80% Malbec and 20% Merlot, and displays a fine balance of elegant rusticity and everyday drinkability. This has been historically paired with Cassoulet, but if you don’t have the time to make Cassoulet, pair with pork sausage dishes or game meats.
