Sant’Evasio Barbera d’Asti, Italy (Andrew)

Named for a hilltop 1800s chapel that was destroyed in World War II, Sant’Evasio has become known for their great Barbera. This simple example of their work provides notes of plum, dark cherry and spice, medium-bodied and perfect to pair with pizza or pastas with tomato sauce.

Finca Sobreno 2018 Crianza, Toro, Spain (Tim)

The wine appellation of Toro is situated in the region of Castilla y Leon in Northwest Spain, a land of extremes that endures dry, rocky vineyards, scorching summers and freezing cold winters.  The wines are typically powerful, with full body, tannins and high alcohol.  This simple example of Toro red was aged eight months in American oak, made entirely from Tinto de Toro (Tempranillo). Exuding ripe plum, blackberry and toast notes with supple tannins, this can be paired with spicy pork or beef tacos, or pasta with beef ragu.

Alain Jaume 2019 Lirac Roquedon, Rhone, France (Andrew)

The Jaume family has been producing wine in the Rhone Valley since 1826, their estate located in the community of Orange in the Northern part of Chateauneuf-du-Pape.  This delicious red blend comprised of mostly Grenache (60%) with smaller proportions of Syrah, Mourvedre and Carignan shows classic Rhone notes of kirsch, blackberry, blackcurrant and garrigue with supporting hints of vanilla and spice. Enjoy with roast chicken or stuffed pork chops.

Sean Minor 2019 Cabernet Sauvigon, Paso Robles, California (Aron)

In typical outgoing Paso Robles fashion, this Cabernet Sauvignon shows loads of raspberry and blueberry fruit notes with soft touches of cedar, oak and a light tannic grip. This wine would be great with weeknight burgers or tacos.

Clouston &. Co. 2019 Pinot Noir, Marlborough, New Zealand (Pat)

Our tasting panel was blown away by this Pinot Noir, which resembled a very good Burgundy in our opinion.  Graceful notes of raspberry, forest floor, and coffee bean intermingle with smooth, velvety tannins. Try with salmon or pepper crusted beef tenderloin.
